Metal Gear Solid 5 The Phantom Pain is now available for the PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. There are a total of 157 Side Ops in Metal Gear Solid: 5 The Phantom Pain. In fact, completing them may also unlock certain story related cutscenes on Mother Base.
Some Side Ops are classified as important and have story elements to them so completing all of them are worth it. Most of these missions are not compulsory but completing them will unlock new weapons, items and tools along with GMP that will make you life easier on the battlefield. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain features a long story campaign but besides that it also features an extensive side mission or side ops list.
